Paralyzed Kitten Can’t Stop Running After Getting His Very Own Wheelchair
Despite being paralyzed, such kitties still deserve a chance at life. They are just like any other cat; they simply need a little extra help.
This little ginger kitten came into the world with paralyzed hind legs. Sadly, he was abandoned by his mother right away.
While it may sound disheartening, it’s often a cat’s natural instinct guiding her to focus on the healthy kittens, believing the weaker one won’t make it.
However, despite his mother’s abandonment, a group of compassionate folks from Massapequa Pet Vet in New York stepped in to give this kitten a fighting chance.
The poor kitten was found on the streets of New York by a caring individual, who brought him to Massapequa Pet Vet.
The team of highly skilled veterinarians welcomed him with open arms and named him Max, ensuring he got the support and help he desperately needed.
Upon realizing that his hind legs were paralyzed, the veterinarians decided to give him his very own kitty wheelchair. Once he received it, Max was absolutely overjoyed, as if nothing could hold him back.
He was zooming around the house using his front legs, and couldn’t hide his joy. Thanks to the caring vets, Max was able to run just like any other kitten, almost forgetting about his nonfunctional hind legs.
But, there’s more to the story! Besides giving him a kitty wheelchair, the vets continued helping Max build his muscles and stimulate his nerves so he could use the wheelchair more easily.
His exercises include aquatic exercises and pole climbing. Climbing poles helps strengthen his front leg muscles, allowing him to pull himself forward with greater ease.
On the other hand, aquatic exercises help relax his muscles and train them without excessive strain. Some vets hope that aquatic exercises might help Max use his back legs, but that’s not certain.
Regardless of that, the important thing is that Max got a new chance at life after being abandoned by his own mother.
Thanks to a dedicated and skillful vet team, Max’s future looks bright, despite his challenging beginnings. Now, he can play, run, and explore just like any other feline.
Max is one content kitty with a wheelchair who doesn’t let anyone or anything stop him from living his best life as it is.
