Cat Abandoned In A Building Spent Days Waiting For Her Owner But No One Came To Claim Her

A shy gray and white feline appeared out of nowhere in a building in New York. Most tenants assumed the cat had escaped from someone’s apartment, but sadly, that wasn’t the case.

Days passed, and the cat remained in the same spot, patiently waiting for her owner to return. However, no one came to pick her up.

Everything changed when a kind neighbor decided to offer the cat a helping hand she so desperately needed. After seeing the frightened cat in distress, he instantly reached out to Little Wanderers in New York City for help.

When the rescuers finally arrived at the location, they gently approached the cat, picked her up, and brought her to safety. Little Wanderers NYC shared:

“She was cold and hungry and tried to stay warm by huddling under the radiator in the corner. It didn’t really work. One of our volunteers happened to have a relative living there, so the cat was in luck. We’ve called her Fortune.”

Upon their arrival at the rescue, Fortune was provided with everything she needed, including food, water, and a thorough examination.

As soon as Fortune got warm, she started coming out of her shell, transforming from a shy kitty into a purring machine, grateful for a new opportunity in life.

After realizing Fortune was a lovely kitty who didn’t require any further socialization, the rescuers sent her to a lovely foster family.

Fortune instantly loved her new home, rolling on the warm floor and making biscuits in the air, while her purring sounds echoed the room.

When not engaged in these activities, she begs for belly rubs, as if making up for the warmth and affection she had missed.

A vet examination revealed Fortune was microchipped and approximately two years old, but sadly, the chip led to a dead end.

She won everyone’s hearts with her lovely purrsonality. Despite everything she had been through, Fortune remained a lovely and affectionate kitty, simply desiring a warm place to call home.

The Little Wanderers NYC expressed hope that Fortune would soon find a loving home she deserves, saying:

“If you’ve been looking for your very own beginner cat to join your home, Fortune is the one. She will bring you good fortune like a fortune cookie!”
