More Than Brothers, Cats Noah And Norman Are “Thunder Buddies”

Some cats just don’t care for thunderstorms. All that rumbly racket sets their nerves to jumping!

Feline reactions to bad weather can range from ears flicked back in annoyance to hiding under the bed. Some cats will even watch the storm from a favorite window, just to keep an eye on things.

That’s what Noah and Norman sometimes do.

And when Noah got worried over a recent storm, his brother Norman was there to comfort him with a loving paw.

The boys’ mom, Emma Patricia, caught picture proof of the protective bond between the kitty brothers one rainy morning while enjoying a quiet minute of reading.

Thunderstorm Comfort

Sitting in the window is a usual pastime for Noah and Norman. And as Emma told The Dodo, “The boys love to sit and watch the rain in the window.”

The kitty brothers even sit in the windowsill with their tails in perfect hooked unison.

“I didn’t think anything of it but then I looked over a few minutes later, and Norman had his arm around Noah and they were just sitting there like that watching the storm.”

Emma reports the cats often snuggle up with paws around each other when grooming, “But to just sit like little thunder buddies that way — never!”

As a cat mom to four felines, Emma is used to kitty antics, but actually catching a tender moment was a treat. Especially because Noah and Norman were just tussling on the floor not moments before. They truly are brothers, roughhousing one second and hugging the next.

But, more than brothers, Noah and Norman are best friends too.

They love to be close to one another,” Emma said. “Generally, where you find one, the other is close by.”

Emma shared the two have been close since Noah joined the family. “My little sister actually found Noah when she was on a canoe trip. He was down on the riverbed and I came and got him and he never left.”

While Emma and all the cats make a happy family, there is just something extra between Noah and Norman. And Norman certainly appears to be the big brother, protecting Noah and offering him support when he needs it most.

Whether hugging or wrestling, Noah and Norman’s mom said, “They are brothers and very much act like it.”
