He had lived trapped inside a cat carrier for two years. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS ALREADY TOO LATE WHEN THEY FOUND HIM, SKIN AND BONE!
He was skin and bone and had mange so terrible that his eyes were swelled shut from being trapped in a pet container for the majority of his existence. Because of his extensive list of pricey medical issues, BARC, a shelter in Houston, Texas, immediately arranged his euthanasia after his holding period was ended.
Samuel needed some luck in his life after going through so much, and he got it when Leslie Raines, a veterinarian’s assistant, saw a picture of a very ill cat that had tested positive for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
She messaged numerous rescue organizations to let them know that she would be willing to foster him if she could obtain some support because as soon as she saw him, she knew she wanted to assist him. “Save A Purrfect Cat Rescue (SAPCR)” intervened and helped Samuel just in time.
Since Samuel’s health was so terrible, one of Leslie’s clients offered to be his “rescue ride.” The poor woman didn’t think he would make it! The moment Samuel arrived at Leslie’s clinic, medical care began. In addition to being emaciated and suffering from mange and related conditions, he also suffered pressure wounds from his extended captivity.
Although he didn’t look good—in fact, he looked very bad—Leslie was determined to keep a positive attitude.
