The Anti-Cruelty Culture of Chicago received a phone call in December 2016 about a neglected Persian kitty named Sinbad who was living alone in an old man’s basement since his owner couldn’t care for him.
When private detectives went to the man’s house to see how the cat was doing, they were taken aback by what they discovered. The pet cat had been disregarded to the point that he was engulfed in his own hair and unable to walk.
The hair was matted and heavy (about 5 additional pounds), and he was covered with dust and excrement.
The senior guy agreed to submit Sinbad to the pet sanctuary after speaking with the private investigators. Sinbad was taken to the shelter, where the staff spent hours removing his fur. He looked like a whole different animal towards the end.
Despite all that has happened to him, Sinbad is a genuinely kind person who enjoys receiving attention from others. Despite having been mistreated for much of his life, he still has a soft spot for others.
“As he got his cocoon of matting removed, the nasty kitten was appreciative for any form of care he received.”
Thankfully, a guy named Elliot took on Sinbad and gave him a permanently home. He definitely enjoys his new home as well as his brand-new dad.
Finally, the happy senior pet cat has located a wonderful place to live a happy life.
