Recently, Brooklyn’s NYPD 60th Province received a cute orphan kitten into the team. The kitten was abandoned at the station when he was only 6 months old and immediately stole the hearts of police officers.
In just a few seconds, this kind cat pushed right into the deputy officer’s heart! He immediately jumped into the policeman’s lap and squeezed into his arms. They didn’t want to take him to an animal shelter, so they came up with a different plan.
They convinced the commander that they would like to adopt a cat and he would be a perfect collaborator in the team and strengthening morale. The boss agreed with them, but on one condition the cops should make sure they clean up after him.
I told them, ‘I have two cats at home and two dogs, and I have no problem with that, but we have to get a litter box, and you have to clean the litter box,’ Deputy Inspector William Taylor explained to Brooklyn Paper. “I’ll even pay the costs. , food, water and sweets – but I don’t clean litter box. “
Fortunately, everyone agreed to the deal, and he is now able to call the station his home! The station’s latest police cat is named Martin after Officer Martin D. Costanza, one of the officers who persistently begged to keep him.
Martin is now living a happy life in the station with the officers, enjoying everything they have at the precinct including company, multiple beds, food and water stations, and toys! Each day, Martin makes an appearance at roll call to “inspect everyone” and spread a little joy. “He cheers me up. The guys come by and get a chuckle out of him, the ones who are having a hard day,” Taylor said.
