Larry is the resident cat at 10 Downing Street in London, the British Prime Minister’s home and the official headquarters to the United Kingdom’s government. He mostly wanders around outside and greets the guests.
Larry was rescued from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, under Prime Minister David Cameron. Little Larry is pretty “famous” for his amazing skills in hunting mice. However when Larry was first brought there he needed some time till he starts his hunting games.
His official bio on the United Kingdom’s government website states, “Larry spends his days greeting guests to the house, inspecting security defences and testing antique furniture for napping quality. His day-to-day responsibilities also include contemplating a solution to the mouse occupancy of the house. Larry says this is still in tactical planning stage.”
Larry was taking his daily outside aventure as usually, when suddenly started to rain.He didn’t want to get wet and tried to go back home. Yet there is no pet door to let Larry come and go whenever he wants, he decided to wait outside for someone to come and let him back in.
A police officer standing guard at the British Prime Minister’s residence took pity on the rambunctious cat and knocked on the door to let him in, which he quickly did the first moment when the door opened.
The police officers that guard 10 Downing Street are not the only people that Larry has won over, since it was not the first time Larry was let inside by a police officer. Little Lary has plenty of fans all around the world. He has won all of them with his cute and sassy charm. He even received a lot of gifts and treats.
