After everything he went through, this little one was nervous about people. Until he met a new friend who was his size…
No one likes to feel lonely, and that’s exactly how most of us feel the moment we enter a fresh and unfamiliar world. The same can be said for animals, especially when they are taken to an unknown place.
This tiny puppy saved from a puppy mill has an interesting story to tell.
Ruggles, a Shih-Tzu puppy, was rescued from a puppy factory. The puppy is so small that it is only slightly larger than the hand of an adult. This puppy has a hard start in life and you can imagine how scared and nervous he is after living in such a scary environment. Cherokee County Animal Shelter volunteers accepted him and took care of him.
He needed a friend of his own size.
Even a puppy as small as Ruggles needs time to adjust to a new environment. He may have felt scared or nervous seeing a whole new world outside the puppy mill at some point.
They are very active and playful, as are all puppies and kittens. They had an instant connection the first time they saw each other. They played with toys that were spread out on the floor and they were never uncomfortable in company.
It didn’t take long for them to abandon the toys and just play naturally with each other. They were such good friends that you’d think they’d moved on from their traumatic past.
They were both able to live happily ever after.
They were not the same unfortunate pets as a few months ago. Ruggles overcame serious health problems and turned into a handsome puppy. He was adopted by a wonderful family. He also became the official ambassador of the Cherokee County Animal Shelter.
