Kitten Storms Police Department & Settles In Right Away

Some souls are born knowing just what they want to do in life and a certain little kitten is one such cat with a purpose in mind. From the moment his little paws hit the pavement of the Eden Township streets of Alameda County, California, he was practicing his patrolling for the moment he became part of a law enforcement family.

And when the fuzzy black kitten felt ready to join the force, he strolled up to the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office and settled right in, not leaving until he was adopted into the family. Fresh from what the Sheriff’s Office call their “happy news department,” they shared the tale of kitten who moseyed on into the station and decided to stick around.

Cadet Cutie Kitten

As the Facebook post story goes, the cute kitten had “been loitering around our Eden Township Station.” Staff reported seeing the little one outside for a couple of days. One can assume he was getting up the courage to head on into the building to become the next pawfficer on duty! When he did finally start hanging around the doors, everyone assumed “he was trying to walk on as a K-9 unit.”

He was insistent about staying “and refused to leave until he got into the building for an interview.” And no surprise, officers and staff couldn’t say no to the kitten. So, what did the mini mini-panther do once he got word he could stay?

“Once in the sergeant’s office, he took over the printer and had a little nap.”

The department’s first impression of their newest recruit?

“He’s got a big attitude but is super cute.”

The kitten’s big day in the Sherriff’s office finished with the best news ever, the department revealing, “We are happy to say he was taken to the vet by Deputy Scalise and she is going to adopt him.” Gainful employment and a forever home all in one day? Not a bad day for a little kitten!

But there’s one last order of business in the kitten’s hire, the Sheriff’s Office sharing, “Now, he just needs a name???”

Commenters on the post offered a multitude of suggestions: Copy Cat, Recruit, Frisk-y, Justice, Radar, Herbie (“because he is such a love bug.”), Deputy, Sheriff Meowser, Toner, Sergeant Gato, Bandit, Tracker (“because he tracked you down.”). Prowler, and even K9.

So, what would you call a kitten cop?
