Kid Detective Solves Missing Cat Caper

The day was like any other in the neighborhood, but when 8-year-old Aiden Foster spotted a new cat roaming around, things got hairy.

Aiden hadn’t seen the cat before, but he still recognized the kitty’s mug. The grey feline face was the one from the missing posters he’d seen. A family was searching for their kitty boy after he’d gone on the lam, and Aiden knew he had to help.

Aiden tailed Tobin the cat, but like felines will, the sleek, silver cat hopped a fence and disappeared.

But Aiden wasn’t done with this case. Oh no, he had a plan to bring Tobin home to his mom.

The Case of the Missing Cat

Ashley Goldstein and her cat Tobin had recently moved into a new area of West Palm Beach, FL when Tobin escaped their apartment. She was worried sick for her 10-year-old cat, hunting everywhere and putting out posters.

“I was desperate to find him,” Ashley told WPTV.

But the weeks passed with no Tobin and Ashley feared the worst. Her senior cat was lost in an area he didn’t know, and “honestly, I thought I was never going to see him again.”

She was soon to get a holiday surprise, coming in the form of a phone call from Aiden regarding her missing cat.

“It’s this little boy telling me that he thinks he saw my cat.”

Aiden told Ashley how he’d seen Tobin in his backyard, but before a connection could be made, the cat went over the fence. He tried to follow but explained, “I just couldn’t, so I just put my cat food that was there. I put a trail all the way down there left a whole big pile over there.”

Aiden is a smart kid for sure because the best way to attract a cat is always food!

A Food Trail Home Just in Time for Christmas

Aiden’s plan worked. 60 days after Tobin went missing, Ashley found her beloved cat less than a mile from where Aiden had first spotted him.

“He not only made my Christmas, my holiday, but he brought my family back together.”
