Sometimes in life, the very best cats of all come to us when we least expect it. And such is the case for one perfectly fluffy orange feline named Garfield the Puffy. He met his forever humans by chance, and it’s a good thing that he did because he likely would not have lived much longer had fate not been on his site. Although the start of his nine lives was quite rough, he quickly learned that he could trust humans, and that life as a spoiled and adored house cat is a pretty good one.
How did Garfield come into your life?
We didn’t plan to get a cat, but we didn’t have the heart not to save Garfield. Our story with Garfield began in the summer of 2021 when we were in Bran. One morning I went out into the yard and saw a scared, dirty kitten, full of ticks and fleas looking at us with sad eyes. We fell in love with him instantly. He was quite wild and it took a while for him to trust us, he wouldn’t even let us touch him. One morning he came to us injured, meowing and very scared. He had been bitten on the tail by a dog. It took two days to catch him and take him to the vet, who told us that he is about one year old, that he has mange, parasites and that if we want to save him, we must not let him go again on the streets. At that moment we decided that we cannot leave him alone and that we must take him with us to Bucharest. Now Garfield is a happy cat with a family that loves him.
How did he get his name?
When we first saw him, his color being orange and fat (we thought he was fat, but he was bloated with parasites) we thought of the cartoon character Garfield. And so we decided to name him Garfield.

What is his personality like?
From the first day he arrived at our house, he was very loving. He is very affectionate, calm, and loving, he likes to sleep in my arms and be caressed. Because he was beaten by people when we have guests he hides because he is still scared, even though it has been a year since he has been with us.
What are his favorite hobbies?
He loves to sit at the window and watch the birds. He loves to play with his favorite toys which are balls and mice.
Does he have any cat or dog housemates at home?
We have no other pets in the house. He is the boss of the house.
What’s something special you’d like for people to know about Garfield?
Garfield is the most loving and beautiful kitten. He changed our lives and we are glad every day that we decided to save him!
I want to give a special “thank you” to Garfield’s owners for allowing me to share his sweet story and images with all of the Cattitude Daily readers. Stories like his just go to show you that sometimes all a cat needs is love to live their best nine lives.
