Animals on the streets face an unknown and terrible fate. Worse yet, because she is a woman when she becomes pregnant, her mother instinct drives her to battle tooth and nail to save what she cares about the most.

In South Los Angeles, a stray cat and her litter of six kittens were discovered. At the time, the kittens were just two days old and in need of foster care.

Jen Marder, a Wrenn Rescues volunteer, came up and took them home. And the mother cat blew her away by showing her unconditional love right away.

“She rubbed up against me as soon as I opened the carrier, yearning for love. She was really talkative and made it clear that she want my attention. In my arms, she was purring and hugging “Jen said.

They built a cozy home for the family, where the mother cat could feel secure while caring for her babies. While her hungry kittens ate, the beautiful calico began to knead in her new bed.

Every time her foster mother stepped into the room, the calico mother (nicknamed Cleopatra or Cleo) would plead for attention and love.

“All she needs is a warm lap to cuddle up in and all the affection and caressing she couldn’t receive on the streets,” her mother explains.

Cleo is so tiny, so feeding six hungry mouths and watching them develop like the little kids has been incredible.

She is incredibly lovely to all of her children, lovingly caring for them all and showing no preference for any of them in particular.

Cleo enjoys being loved by her cats and receiving lots of attention from her owners. She will respond with compassion and affection to everyone that cries out to her.

Cleo began to retreat and spent most of her time with her foster family when the kittens were weaned and learned to play.

Clao can’t disguise her affection for her children.

Her kittens are affectionate and playful. If they’re being really mischievous, it just takes two minutes for them to come onto your lap, cuddle up, and fall asleep.
