Custom Restored 1971 Plymouth GTX

When it comes to iconic muscle cars, the 1971 Plymouth GTX is undoubtedly among the most memorable ones out there. The car was a true beast on the road, and its appearance in the movie “Fast 8: Fate of the Furious” only solidified its status as a legendary vehicle. However, not all GTXs are created equal, and this one in particular is a true standout.

Period Correct 440 CI V-8 Engine

Under the hood of this beauty is a period correct 440 CI V-8 engine that has been rebuilt, bored, and honed for maximum performance. The engine is topped with an Edelbrock intake and features Holley Sniper EFI with self-tuning, black engine accessories, and coated headers. Additionally, the engine has been outfitted with a Beast serpentine kit, Wizard dual-fan cooling system, and Moroso ignition wires for an upgraded ignition. The custom dual exhaust system with Borla mufflers provides a sound that is both aggressive and refined.

Nut and Bolt Restoration Completed in 2022

This GTX has undergone a complete nut and bolt restoration that was completed in 2022. The attention to detail is apparent throughout the vehicle, and no expense was spared in making sure that every component is in top condition. From the engine to the suspension to the interior, everything has been carefully restored to ensure that this GTX is as close to its original factory condition as possible.

Custom BMW Jet Black Paint

The classic lines of the 1971 Plymouth GTX have been accentuated by a custom BMW Jet Black paint job. The paint is flawless and gives the car a sleek and modern look while still paying homage to its roots. The front fender graphic is silver and factory-like, adding an extra touch of elegance to the overall design.

727 Automatic Transmission

Behind the engine is an A727 automatic transmission that has been rebuilt to handle the power of the 440 CI V-8 engine. The transmission shifts smoothly and effortlessly, making the driving experience as enjoyable as it is powerful.

Magnum Force 4-Link Suspension

The Magnum Force 4-link suspension is a key component in the handling of this GTX. The suspension has been modified to provide a smooth ride while still being able to handle the power of the engine. The Hydroboost braking system with Wilwood disc brakes provides excellent stopping power, while the Flaming River steering column and steering wheel provide precise steering control.

Vintage Air

The Vintage Air system is a welcome addition to this GTX, especially on hot summer days. The system provides excellent cooling while still blending in seamlessly with the overall design of the vehicle.

Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft

The carbon fiber drive shaft is another performance enhancement that has been added to this GTX. The drive shaft is lightweight and provides better acceleration and overall performance.

Rushforth Custom Wheels

The 10-spoke Rushforth custom wheels are a standout feature of this GTX. The modern low-profile radial rubber provides excellent grip and handling, while the overall design of the wheels perfectly complements the classic lines of the car.

Flaming River Steering Column and Steering Wheel

The Flaming River steering column and steering wheel provide a classic look with modern functionality. The steering is precise and responsive, making it easy to handle the power of the 440 CI V-8 engine.

Wilwood Brakes

The Wilwood brakes provide excellent stopping power and have been carefully tuned to work in conjunction with the Magnum Force 4-link suspension.
