California born and raised! Built at the Van Nuys plant, we just purchased it from Fullerton CA. Very, very desirable RS-SS, big block, 4-speed, factory LeMans blue on original metal. Body off frame restored.
EXTERIOR: Great looking car. Clean California body appears to be original metal. The quarters are not spliced, bottom door lips are dry, bottom of fenders are all tin. It is laser straight, the gaps are excellent. I don’t see any signs of damage, cracking or bubbles. It’s a factory LeMans code U. On the video I said it never had a vinyl top, I was mistaken, it originally had a white top. The metal flake is laid out very nicely, the clear coat has been polished to a glossy finish. The stripes are painted on with proper dimensions and are smooth. It has a cowl hood, rear spoiler, bumper guards and the Rally Sport option. This includes the hideaway lights, they have been updated to electric motors instead of vacuum. The RS also includes the chrome trim on top of the doors and the relocated reverse lights. The chrome and trim has been replaced- the bumpers, emblems, marker lights, wheel well moldings, stainless trim around the windows, the mirrors, door handles, gas cap were replaced. The front and rear windows were replaced. Door jambs are very nice, weather strips were replaced. The polished aluminum Torque Thrust wheels add a nice touch. Tires look new.
INTERIOR: It is optioned up with the deluxe interior with houndstooth upholstery, console, factory gauges, factory tachometer and deluxe wheel. The seats have been reupholstered. The molded door panels look real nice, the driver’s is nicked on the edge.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It is a correct 396-325 hp Camaro motor. It was upgraded with the aluminum intake, Edelbrock carb, a big set of stainless headers and an HEI ignition system with a billet distributor. Now it makes at least 375 hp, probably more. Dressed up with stock chrome valve covers and air cleaner. In front it has chrome timing cover, alternator bracket and billet pulleys. An aluminum water pump and an aluminum Champion radiator keep it cool. The power brake system is all new. Power steering hoses have been replaced. Overall the motor compartment is tidy and clean looking.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very impressive metal. The trunk floor and the inner quarters have no signs of rust, splices or repairs. It does have a matching polished Torque Thrust wheel for a spare. It does not have a jack. Under the trunk lid is painted nicely, new weather strip.
UNDERSIDE: Body off frame restored. The subframe was removed and completely restored. The entire front suspension and steering looks new- control arms, bushings, balljoints, shocks etc. New body bushings. Looking up at the motor it looks new. The freeze plugs are fresh, has new high torque starter. 1968 date coded Muncie 4-speed looks fresh. It has a 12 bolt rear with 3.55 posi and chrome cover. The fat exhaust system with stainless Flowmaster mufflers sounds great. The fuel tank and straps look new. The brakes have been replaced, disc in front. E-brake assembly is hooked up. New shocks front and back. The metal looks very clean and dry. The inner rockers and lower 1/4s are clean, drain plugs are still in tact. Floors look original with no patches.
