Ric Slaughter’s tale of his black 1960 Chevy Biscayne is pretty typical of those most hot rod owners his age would share: He owned one in high school, and now that he has the opportunity to play again, he purchases the same vehicle. The only noteworthy aspect of the narrative is Ric’s Chevrolet Biscayne.
First and foremost, you don’t see 1960 Chevy Biscaynes in as good of form as Camaros, Chevelles, or Novas as frequently. The iconic John Lingenfelter 496 Big Block V8 engine with 650 horsepower is then installed in the engine bay of this historic car and is connected to a Tremec 5-speed transmission. Ric even has a sizable bottle of Nitrous in the trunk, but he admits he’s only ever used it twice, and both times were pretty frightening.
