We’re traveling to the UK today to view a fantastic Big Block-powered Chevy Nova. The guy became obsessed with hot rods after being influenced by his father and muscle car magazines, and as a true gearhead, he had to own one. But instead of a tiny block vintage to cruise around in on the weekends, he received a true beast.
The Scott Shafiroff 582 V8 engine in the Chevy Nova boasts a powerful 10:1 compression ratio and a 1150 Dominator carburetor that can produce 800 horsepower. It is an all-steel street vehicle with a vinyl top, caged racing interior, and spectacular sound (the hood and boot lid are made of aluminum).
You can skip to the Big Block Chevy Nova road test at the 10-minute mark if you want to avoid the host’s lack of muscle car knowledge. I’ll guarantee that you’ll like that portion.
