This video courtesy of Carchaeology on YouTube (on the POWERTube TV network) shows host Randy Carlson picking up some muscle car icons. Not one, but a total of five memorable machines are finding new homes in one of the greatest hauls of classic muscle cars.

He finds himself in Tucson, Arizona at an unassuming suburban street where the group of cars are sitting looking pretty, and luckily he has a camera to catch the beautiful patina-covered Mopars.

Aside from the four Dodges, there is a rare car from the Blue Oval too, which promises to be a good investment. There is also some drama when it comes to loading the haul: one of the cars puts up a fight along the way.

These Classic Muscle Cars Are In Original Condition

Randy says that he is picking up the classic muscle cars which were from a man named Mark, who was passionate about these machines and enjoyed the cars over his life. Since he passed on, the cars will have to go to a new home.

The cars are patina covered – they sat in the sun for too long – there was no room in the garage for the Mopars, but they got enjoyed, maintained, and driven. Most of them are big blocks and desirable models.

First up is the 1969 Dodge Charger R/T with a big block V8 and a four-speed transmission. A base-model ´69 Charger is worth from $40,000, but a Hemi-powered R/T model is worth an average of $110,000, according to Hagerty.

The bigger surprise is a ’69 Dodge Charger 500 in the street. These were homologation cars – produced in around 392 examples, which got designed to give Dodge an edge in NASCAR with a different front end, and flush rear window for aerodynamics. The Dodge Charger 500 is worth around $155,000 for a Hemi-engined version says Hagerty, but most came with the 7.2-liter V8, and this one’s an automatic.

How Much Is A Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR Worth?

Along with a Dodge Challenger R/T and a Dodge Coronet R/T (both awesome muscle car projects with more patina), there is a second surprise. Although not as rare as the Dodge Charger 500, the Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR is an extremely-valuable machine. It sits with its blue paint fading and some obvious rust, but the car is in pretty good condition for having sat outside for years.

Built in around 1,452 examples, the 1968-exclusive car came with the 7-liter Cobra Jet V8 and made around 335 hp. It’s worth an average of $184,000 at auction according to Classic.com.

If Randy can turn around the Charger 500 and Shelby GT500KR, they will surely make big profits, but all five muscle cars need to fit on a car transporter.

This part of the video turns into a drama when the winch cable breaks, causing the Dodge Coronet to fall forwards, nearly totaling the truck and car itself. Thanks to quick reactions from the man on the trailer moving the car, the day gets saved.

It’s an awesome collection of cars and the previous owner surely got a significant amount of fun out of them while he could.
