It’s the type of car you would expect Dita Von Teese to own.

The burlesque dancer – who is famed for looking like she just stepped out of Fifties Hollywood – arrived for an appointment in Los Angeles on Wednesday in a dark green, classic Cadillac.

The curvy vehicle completed the 39-year-old’s signature retro look.

Everything about the dancer and model harks back to a bygone age.

Her raven, wavy hair is reminiscent of the style popularised by movie star Veronica Lake back in the Forties.

Meanwhile her v-neck tight jumper looks like something that Fifties sweater girl and actress Lana Turner would have worn.

Dita also wore a pair of stone grey and black pedal pushers, again a fashion trend that was popular sixty years ago.

The performer is apparently an expert on vintage cars, which she collects.

Last year she gave an interview to Forbes.com showing off her impressive knowledge.

Dita – who also owns a 1931 Packard – said: ‘The 1930s were the most elegant years for cars.

‘The Packard is notoriously the kind of car that gangsters drove: They were fast, they were slick, they were cool.’

She also explained her love of old-fashioned things.

Dita said: ‘I like having old things around me because there’s a certain artfulness and craftsmanship that isn’t possible now.

‘There was a time when everything was made with a certain aesthetic for beauty and art, and there are a lot of modern things that that’s not important to the people designing them.’

Dita is rarely seen in public without being impeccably dressed and made up, usually wearing matching red lipstick and nail polish.

In the past she has said: ‘I advocate glamour. Every day. Every minute.’
