Discover the Texas Classic Car Sanctuary Overflowing with Mopar and GM Icons

When it comes to finding salvageable classic cars in this day and age, most enthusiasts jump for joy when they discover their latest project came from a region where rain is seldom, and sunshine is aplenty.

However, there’s something to say for crossing the line from having a good thing, and that good thing leading to excess.

Take for instance, the latest episode of Heart of Texas Barn Finds – the automotive YouTube channel (HOTBF) dedicated to finding the best “honey holes” in the South

See The Classic Car Graveyard In Texas Filled With Mopar And GM Icons

Arriving at a massive property with dozens of cars, it seems like a place where legendary icons of a bygone era have gone to die, as they spend the remainder of their lives covered in vines and weeds rather than on the road where they belong – a fate that is all too common for classic cars and their hoarder-like owners.

Fortunately for us — and the cars — the properties HOTBF visits tend to be willing to part ways with most of their collection for the right price.

An American Classic Muscle Car Graveyard

Today, the guys discover a sprawling property filled with multiple iconic muscle cars from the ’60s and ’70s — plus a few JDM legends thrown into the mix.

After spotting the collection from the side of the road, the boys turned on the charm when approaching the owner of the property to see if they could document the extensive collection.

After making their way past the turn-of-century vehicles that we consider yard art rather than automobiles, we begin to hold our breath as the vague shape of a 1969 Pontiac GTO comes into view.

Save The Dodge (Super) Bees In This Barn Find Adventure

But the hits just keep on coming as we pass row after row of dilapidated icons that once dominated the roads of North America – from a ’66 Dodge Charger to a ’69 Chevelle, we begin to wonder if the owner of this collection took care of any of these cars.

But just as we begin to lose faith HOTBF strolls across a few gems that make the trip worthwhile.

Hiding out under a few awnings around the property, we’re first introduced to a 1969 Dodge Super Bee, an immaculate Mitsubishi 3000GT, and the star of the show — a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that belongs to the owner’s wife.

Although there are still dozens of vehicles baking away in the hot Texas sun, we have to credit the owners for giving these cars a safe space from the crusher – because even though they are long past their survivor state, the lack of moisture in Texas makes these classic car shells the perfect blank canvas for an EV powertrain swap — which would all but ensure these classics have a home in the future world of awesome automobiles
