People Hear Faint Kitten Cries Coming From A Nearby Dumpster And Decide To Take Action
My heart breaks every time I hear a story about cats being mistreated. Just a couple of days ago, I came across a YouTube video that really shook me up.
In the video, two kindhearted and cat-loving people, Stoyan and Dessy, were heading out to toss their trash when they heard faint kitten cries coming from the nearby dumpster.
Worried about the kittens’ safety, they sprang into action.
The whole rescue mission went down around 3 am. As they were about to toss their trash bag, Stoyan and Dessy heard desperate kitten meows coming from an old shoebox nearby. Without hesitation, they decided to investigate.
They mentioned that this kind of cruel feline disposal was sadly common in their hometown.
Thankfully, both Stoyan and Dessy are avid cat enthusiasts. In their spare time, they help stray cats in their area, providing them with food, veterinary care, and shelter.
As they say in the description of their video, they aren’t an organization or a shelter – just an ordinary couple with a big dream.
The box they found held two abandoned kittens – a boy and a girl, just a couple of days old. Someone must’ve hated the idea of owning two kittens, opting to mercilessly throw them in the trash.
Thankfully, Stoyan and Dessy rescued them just in time. If they had been a couple of hours late (since the garbage truck usually comes around 5 am), the kittens’ fate would have been grim.
Upon opening the box, they saw the kittens were shaking uncontrollably and barely responsive – clear signs of hypothermia in cats.
Knowing that they didn’t have much time, they acted hastily, rushing home to warm them up.
Back at their place, Stoyan and Dessy wrapped the freezing kittens in a cozy bed with a soft blanket, placing bottles with hot water next to them to keep them warm.
Once they rested and recharged, it was mealtime.
Who knows how long it has been since they ate something? The couple bottle-fed them with kitten formula, after which they cleaned their eyes from the collected puss, and left them to nap some more.
Since Stoyan and Dessy already had two resident older cats and four rescue kittens they were fostering, their home was more than cat-friendly. It was a haven for felines to flourish and heal.
Two Months Later…
Despite initial worries about the kittens’ survival, Stoyan and Dessy were pretty pleased with their progress.
With each passing day, the kittens grew happier and healthier, displaying all the charm of their kitten-like personalities.
They were playful, curious, affectionate – and definitely food-obsessed! The two fluffs loved to eat, and they enjoyed their food like there was no tomorrow.
Thanks to their followers, Stoyan and Dessy found the perfect names for their little survivors: Chance for the boy, and Hope for the girl.
Chance proved himself to be more outgoing than his sister. He was a brave little explorer who loved being in front of the camera, relishing the attention he got from his rescuers.
Hope on the other hand was a bit more reserved. She was a shy lady who preferred to cuddle, especially with Dessy whom she grew very fond of. She was, however, more vocal than her brother – like a true girl!
Both Chance and Hope loved their new home and the friends they met there. They enjoyed hanging out with other kittens and loved to play and learn from two older cats, Bagheera and Sopolcho, both rescued by Stoyan and Dessy.
All in all, Chance and Hope were absolutely thriving under their rescuers’ loving care. I’m sure that once they grew up and were ready for adoption, they managed to find their forever homes equally filled with love.
I hope you enjoyed this heartwarming story as much as I did. Although the story started on a sad note, I’m glad it had its happy ending – something most of us prefer, right?
