Shelter Organizes A Birthday Party For A Tabby Cat Hoping To Find Her A Home But No One Comes
The adoption rate of cats in shelters has increased over the years, but it’s still not enough. Sadly, many people aren’t interested, especially in older pets. And it is a shame because these cats have so much love to give.
Recently, a shelter cat named Monique had a tough moment.
The shelter staff organized a birthday party for her, hoping there would be people lining up for adoption, but unfortunately, no one came.
Monique still had fun posing for pictures and getting lots of affection. However, no adoption applications came in. It was heartbreaking…
The party pics went viral, giving hope that someone would eventually adopt her. One of the biggest concerns was Monique’s FIV condition.
FIV-infected cats can generally live long, happy lives, so it shouldn’t be a barrier to her adoption. The owners just need to pay attention so that their cat doesn’t encounter other cats and transmits the virus.
Fortunately, after celebrating her second birthday and 100 days at the shelter, Monique appeared on TV and in the newspapers, gathering a lot of fans!
Hope was still alive for Monique, and her luck was about to change.
One evening, while watching TV, Adnad saw Monique and instantly felt a connection, knowing he could provide her with a loving home and a wonderful life.
Here she is in her new home:
When he arrived at the shelter, it felt like destiny! After spending some time together, Adnad shared with Battersea:
“She’s very talkative and greets me every morning and can be very bossy when she wants treats. She follows me around the house, pawing at me for scratches and giving me headbutts for cuddles.”
Although her second birthday passed without any guests, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise! Adnan and Monique were meant to be together. If you want to read more heartwarming stories like this, visit our website.
