Many animals spend their entire lives in shelters, longing for a home. It’s a sad scenario, but thankfully, for some, a happy ending is just around the corner. But getting there isn’t an easy feat. First, the animal has to get noticed. In a sea of adorable faces, including kittens that are more likely to get adopted, shelter cats are often overlooked unless they take matters into their own paws. A sweet senior feline named Vali dreamt of a family who would give her a chance.
Vali watched as potential adopters walked past her cage, disinterested in giving her a home. It broke her little kitty heart. She knew she deserved better and refused to give up. With hope still flickering in her gorgeous eyes, Vali hatched a plan.
At 10 years old, the senior cat had less chance of finding a home than other grown-up cats. The outlook was bleak, but Vali’s sweet demeanor was ageless! She had to believe that someone out there was going to give her a home.
Since she was a resident of the rescue group Community Cat Club, Vali waved at everyone who walked past her cage, but no one seemed to notice. She had a foster home but was taken to the adoption center every day to find permanent placement, with no such luck. But the cat never gave up! She waved and waved at everyone with her little paws in the air.

A horrific case of animal cruelty and domestic violence unfolded last year in Fargo, North Dakota. The details are disturbing and tragic. The abuser was sentenced to prison, but we must ensure he never terrorizes another person or animal again.
However, even with her heartwarming greeting, no one was interested until her foster family posted Vali’s video online. She finally garnished the attention she craved and the rescue group received 30 adoption applications for her.
Soon, Vali’s new mom was chosen, and she was picked up from her foster family. The cat, who was desperate to be noticed, finally was! She had a human to call her own and is now spending her days lavishing in love and comfort. Vali, we wish you all the best!
