“XL Cat with an XL Personality” Chonky Shelter Cat Seeks Forever Home to Help Him Shed Pounds

Some cats tend to carry a bit more weight than others, but these “chonky” felines still hold a special place in our hearts. They deserve loving homes where they can work on their health and fitness goals with supportive families. One animal shelter in Wisconsin is currently on a mission to find the perfect home for their “big handsome boy,” a lovable and slightly overweight cat named Echo.

The Oshkosh Area Humane Society in Wisconsin recently introduced Echo, a gray-and-white domestic short-haired cat, to the world through a heartwarming social media post. Described as an “XL cat with an XL personality,” Echo is clearly a hefty fellow who could benefit from losing a few pounds to maintain his health. Despite his size, the shelter emphasizes that Echo is a loving, affectionate, and quirky companion.

“Our cats understand the real challenges that humans face daily, like flying chairs. You never know when a chair might just lift off the ground on its own and move across the room,” the shelter humorously wrote on Facebook. “Echo gets it. That’s why he’s dedicated to battling flying chairs, one paw at a time. Rest assured, humans—Echo’s got your back. And your behind.”

According to his adoption profile, Echo is a 7-year-old cat who previously lived with a family that loved him dearly. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, they were no longer able to care for him, leading them to surrender Echo to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society. Echo is described as a couch potato who enjoys watching TV. While he prefers a calm and peaceful environment, he would thrive in a household that can provide him with a healthy diet and an active lifestyle to help him slim down.

He Microwaved His Ex-Girlfriend's Kitten to Death and Threatened To Kill Her Next

A horrific case of animal cruelty and domestic violence unfolded last year in Fargo, North Dakota. The details are disturbing and tragic. The abuser was sentenced to prison, but we must ensure he never terrorizes another person or animal again.

If you’re interested in giving Echo a forever home, you can find more details on his adoption page. Consider visiting the Oshkosh Area Humane Society during their visiting hours to meet this charming feline and see if he’s the right fit for your family.
