A shelter cat who wears a perfectly shaped heart on his back, is looking for a forever family to love.

Rutile, a 2-year-old ginger and white cat, was brought into Lollypop Farm (an animal rescue organization in Fairport, New York) early this year. He was one of 90+ cats rescued from a house fire in Perinton, New York.

“Rutile had a number of injuries related to the fire — when he arrived at Lollypop Farm, he was covered in soot, had singed whiskers and fur, an upper respiratory infection, and terrible burns on all four of his paws,” Lollypop Farm told Love Meow.

Despite it all, the sweet feline was in good spirits and grateful for the attention and help.

He was eager to be loved from the start. Whenever a staff member or volunteer came to visit him during his recovery, he got up from the comfort of his warm bed, and reached out for pets and head scratches. Rutile was sweet-natured, and all he wanted was someone to care for him.

The friendly feline was born with an adorably shaped marking that symbolizes love. It truly adds to his endearing character. “Rutile is looking for love – and he has the heart to prove it!”

“One extra special thing about Rutile is the fact that he has a perfect heart-shaped mark on his back, and he is a total love,” Lollypop Farm shared with Love Meow.

The sweet kitty wears his heart on his back proudly every day, and isn’t shy of showing his abundance of affection towards people. He relishes every moment with his humans, especially when he is cuddled in their arms or getting petted.

While he was on the mend, being treated daily for his injuries, veterinarians also discovered that he had a soft palate hole, essentially a cleft palate. “Rutile underwent surgery to repair this, and is now still receiving veterinary care at Lollypop Farm.”

Rutile has come a long way since he was rescued from the house fire. He is getting more active and playful each day, and his inner kitten is coming out. The sweet feline will soon be ready to embark on a new journey — to look for his forever home.

He has transformed into a happy and healthy cat who doesn’t want to miss any opportunity to be doted on. As soon as he spots a moving toy, he takes off, chasing after it.
