The true story of classic cars abandoned in Portugal

A few years ago, the story of a barn with a collection of abandoned classic cars inside began to spread. In it appeared photos of very exclusive vehicles full of dust and of course it soon went viral. Especially on social networks, such as Facebook, where surely many of us have shared at some time. But what is true in all this? They told the story of an American, who upon reaching his retirement decides to buy a house with a good piece of land in Portugal. The house had been abandoned for more than 15 years. The owners had passed away and had no heirs, so it became the property of the state, which eventually sold it to pay taxes. There were several takers but the barn had large welded steel doors and mysteriously no one looked inside. In the end, the man from the United States (New York) buys the house and soon he and his wife move in. As soon as they arrive, the first thing they do is open the doors and look inside to calm their curiosity. It is at that moment that they come across the large collection of exclusive and dusty classic cars. Becoming millionaires, since the collection is valued at 35 million dollars. The true story of abandoned cars in the barn of Portugal The real story is much less exciting. Today we know, thanks to Tom Cotter & Sportscarmarket.com, that the story is false. There is a barn full of classic cars in Portugal, but they all belong to a former owner of a car dealership from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The gentleman kept the favorites in the barn until it was full, then he closed the doors and They welded them together for added security. After many years, the owner sent Manuel Menezes Morais, a well-known photographer from the area, to take some photographs. With which they fed the ridiculous story that we now know to be false.
