This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 restored to its original 428 V8 for a stormy price

A fully restored 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 was auctioned during Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction Jan. 22-30.

The Mustang offered without reserve and Marcus Angel has restored the grill to its former glory. The listing reveals that most of the original parts and NOS parts were used during the restoration.

The Mach 1’s exterior is adorned with a shade of purple contrasting with the matte black hood and yellow accents running along the sides of the pony car and across the rear fascia. It also features chrome front and rear bumpers and rollers on a set of chrome wheels in Goodyear tires.

A look inside the cabin reveals black leather seats, a three-spoke steering wheel with wood trim, various wood accents across the dashboard, and lap belts.

Underneath the Shaker bonnet is a 428 cubic inch naturally aspirated V8 engine with matching numbers paired to a four-speed manual transmission. The listing doesn’t reveal how much power this engine had after it was restored, nor does it say how many miles the car had. However, the engine compartment looks clean and the car is clearly well maintained. The list adds that Mach 1 was awarded Concours Trailered Gold in 2015 at the MCA and Heritage Gold at Mid-America Concours in Oklahoma in 2015.
