George wasn’t your average feline. Unlike most cats, he became a symphony of frantic meows when his owner came back from work. 

You can see this emotional rollercoaster on TikTok, shared by his owner with the username @Georgetheultimatecat. In the video, George is meowing repeatedly towards his worried owner, who keeps saying:

“Oh dear, oh dear.” 

When George’s owner came back from work, she couldn’t help but feel guilty as she saw the sadness in his eyes. She knew there was a deeper meaning behind George’s emotional goodbyes. 

The owner mentions she adopted him from the shelter when his owner passed away. Now, it’s clear why he cries at goodbyes. As his owner captions:

“When George first moved in with me, he got desperately upset every day when I went to work. I think it was because his previous owner had passed away and he was scared I might not come back.”

After moving in with his owner, he cried for a whole year whenever she went out. Additionally, she mentioned: 

“He isn’t quite so shouty now though. This video is from just after he’d moved in with me.”

Luckily, George’s tale has a happy ending. The video brought out a flood of affection from animal lovers online. Some viewers commented:

“You have to quit and never leave the house. George’s rules.”
