Nude Kitties For Your Pleasure

Naked. Nude. Hairless.

All words used to describe Sphynx cats.

Cat lovers might also use the terms adorable, snuggly, or beautiful.

Those without naked cat love, might use words like, strange or “scary and mean” though.

After friends called her Sphynx cats by such terms, Sarah Jenkins took to Instagram, posting pics of her hairless sweeties, Rosie and Poppy, in hopes of proving those assessments wrong. We think she’s succeeded.

Reluctance Becomes Love

Sarah Jenkins and her family adopted a Sphynx cat named Ollie after she told her daughter to research which cat breeds would fit in with their family. Sarah’s daughter struggles with Sensory Processing Disorder and, in an article on Bored Panda, Sarah wrote “it affects all aspects of her life daily”.  Her daughter found five breeds conducive to their family’s need, but the Sphynx seemed the best fit. Sarah was not sold at first, thinking the hairless cats a bit strange herself. But the universe had plans that would soon change her mind.

Sphynx cats don’t typically wind up in shelters, so Sarah searched the classifieds and discovered a woman with a pregnant Sphynx looking to adopt out the kittens. In that litter was Ollie. On seeing him, Sara’s thoughts on naked cats forever changed. “His big bug eyes melted my heart, and his jumbo ears put a smile on my face that I could not get rid of. I knew right away that he would join our family.”

Now, the family has grown in leaps and bounds. From one hairless wonder to a litter, the Jenkins have a house full of hairless cats and kittens.

Two of their pink cats sport a condition which lends them an even more unusual appearance.

Rosie and her daughter Poppy have a condition called heterochromia. Simply put, they have two different color eyes, one yellow and the other blue. By the way, David Bowie had the dual-color condition too.

A Whole Brood of Pink Nakedness

Before yellow-and-blue-eyed Rosie joined the Jenkins family, they had adopted a friend for Ollie. Sadly, Snowy had a genetic condition that claimed her life. The sweet, white cat had dual-colored eyes and she’s the reason the Jenkins became aware of heterochromia.

When the time came to find Ollie a new friend, Sarah met Rosie, “a little pink kitten with two different colored eyes”. She couldn’t help thinking Rosie looked “like a little hairless version of Snowy!”

Needless to say, Rosie joined family!

Rosie and Ollie produced a litter of kittens and the family was delighted to discover a yellow-and-blue-eyed baby in the litter. Poppy was a tiny mirror-image of her mom. Rosie and Poppy bonded so strongly, Sarah knew the pair had to stay together, so Poppy remained as part of the family.

Now, Poppy and Rosie are grabbing the internet’s attention with their special eyes and pink skin. Picture by picture, they are teaching the world that Sphynx’s cats are anything but “scary and mean”. In fact, they are delightful and lovable!
